How to be consistent

This week I want to chat about consistency and share a few tips that help me feel on top of my game, especially when the days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer. Throughout my career, I have found there is a misconception that to curate a healthy lifestyle, you must feel motivated at all times. I don't necessarily think this is always true. There could be a multitude of different factors that impact motivation levels, so instead, I like to look at consistency. In my journey , consistency encompasses the daily behaviours, habits and attitudes towards my goals that helps me to show up for myself in the best way I can. TIPS FOR STAYING CONSISTENT: START SMALL AND SLOWLY BUILD UP: I am sure many of us can think of a time when we've wanted to implement a new habit into our routine, started at 100mph, only to find we are exhausted by the end of the first week. This is when I like to remember to slow it down. If we want something to be long lasting, it's important to give it time. SCHEDULE IN MOVEMENT: I don't know about you, but when it comes to pouring into my own cup, I can sometimes get distracted. Carving out dedicated time can be a saviour for this. I like to schedule movement into my day....and encourage myself to stick to it. Never under estimate what 15 minutes of movement a day can do for you! MEAL PLAN: Prepping and planning meals is a must for me when it comes to staying consistent. Batch cooking is a time saviour. This way I can cut out a lot of thinking time about what to cook for dinner. Planning ahead also helps to manage food waste! GIVE YOURSELF GRACE: Remember, everyone starts somewhere and it's ok to flow with the process. We are all still learning and our journeys will likely evolve over time. Your best is enough, and YOU are enough.

TRUST me when I say sometimes you just got to start.

See you on the mat.
